PreMarket Scanner

The PreMarket Scanner lists gap-up movers on weekdays from 4:00 to 9:30 AM Eastern. Each row shows price, change, premarket volume, float, distance from VWAP, a company headline when one exists, and a Ramp Score from 0 to 10.

For building a watchlist before the open. A row is a candidate to review. The Ramp labels Tradeable, Watch, and Avoid are checklist results. They are not orders to buy or sell.

What the board shows

The board starts from the day's gainers and fills in minute bars, float, and news after the first list appears. While the session is open, it typically refreshes every few seconds. That interval is typical behavior, not a guaranteed update time. After 9:30 AM Eastern it can keep that morning's final list and stops requesting a new one. Weekends are outside the session. A market holiday is not removed from the weekday schedule.

You can search by symbol, sort any column, and star a symbol in this browser. Presets narrow the list: Premarket setup keeps premarket volume of at least 100,000 shares; Momentum keeps names up at least 5% with volume of at least 500,000; Low float keeps float of at most 20 million shares that are up at least 10%; News keeps a company headline; Ramp plan keeps a Tradeable score with premarket volume of at least 500,000. More filters cover price, change, volume, float, and relative volume. Common-stock filtering is on by default and hides symbols longer than four letters unless you star them.

Relative volume is today's volume divided by the previous session's volume. It is not a multi-day average. Float rotation is volume divided by float. A tilde on float means shares outstanding was used because free float was missing. Open a row for the high, low, VWAP, the ten Ramp checks, and a link to the chart.

Eight or more checks is labeled Tradeable. Six or seven is Watch. Below six is Avoid. One check, Prior runner, does not pass from the feed. The note tells you to review the one-year chart yourself. A generic market-roundup headline does not count as the catalyst.

Hypothetical example

This example is hypothetical. It is not a print from a session.

A symbol up 4% stays off the Momentum preset, because that preset requires a change of at least 5% and volume of at least 500,000. A Ramp Score of 7 is labeled Watch, so the Ramp plan preset hides it. That preset keeps Tradeable rows, which means 8 or more, and also requires premarket volume of at least 500,000. A six-letter symbol is hidden while common-stock filtering is on, unless it is starred.

Limitations

Quotes can be delayed or incomplete. The status line on the board is the time of the last successful update. Bars, float, and news can arrive after the symbol first appears. The scanner does not place a stop or a target. Stars and filter choices stay in this browser.
