What the board shows
The list starts from the day's gainers. A row appears only after a company headline remains. Market-roundup headlines, such as a story about many stocks moving together, are left off. A headline with a readable time older than about 72 hours is left off. The source line names Benzinga, and the author when the article includes one.
You can search the symbol or the words in the headline, and sort by symbol, price, change, volume, or float. The default order is change percent, highest first. Good and Bad marks are your notes. They are saved in this browser only. They are not part of any score.
Holding is a retrospective comparison. It is on when the last price is at least $0.30 above the price stored when that headline was first seen, and the day is up. It describes the move since that headline was stored. It does not predict whether the price will stay there. A different headline for the same symbol starts that comparison over. Float marked with a tilde is shares outstanding.
While the board is open, it typically refreshes about every 15 seconds. That interval is typical behavior, not a guaranteed update time. The board does not close at 9:30 AM or at 8:00 PM. Rows can be missing on the first load and fill in as news checks finish.
Hypothetical example
This example is hypothetical. It is not a stored headline.
The price stored for a headline is $2.00. A later price of $2.40, with the day up, is $0.40 above the stored price, so Holding can show. A later price of $2.20 is only $0.20 above the stored price, so Holding stays off. The same $2.40 print stays off when the day's change is not positive. A roundup titled as a list of stocks moving is not listed, even if this symbol is mentioned in it.
Limitations
A headline can be delayed, incomplete, or replaced. The scanner does not decide whether the story is favorable. Good and Bad are local notes. There is no Ramp Score on this board.
